Introducing the All-New Felt Compulsion 7

Following four years of development, Felt releases a completely revamped, more aggressive version of the Compulsion.

Felt likely isn't a brand name you immediately think of when discussing long-travel bikes, but they're out to prove they can hang with the big dogs with the release of the new carbon Compulsion. The bike has been reworked from the ground up, has more travel than ever, and a host of features that bring it up to speed. Listen in for the full scoop:

The previous generation of the Compulsion featured an aluminum chassis, and so Felt engineers drew upon the companyโ€™s decades of carbon fiber expertise to give the new Compulsion the most advanced carbon frame of any trail or enduro bike in the companyโ€™s history.

Felt Compulsion Highlights

  • All-new carbon frame
  • 27.5-inch wheels
  • 165mm rear travel // 170mm front travel
  • Equilink 6-bar suspension
  • 205 x 65mm trunnion-mount metric shock
  • Di2 compatible with battery storage compartment
  • Adjustable geometry via flip chips

  • 73mm threaded bottom
  • 12x148mm Boost axle spacing
  • Internal cable routing

"With 165mm of rear suspension travel paired with a 170mm fork, the Compulsion features Feltโ€™s Equilink suspension technology. The full-carbon platform features carbon links for an ultra-lightweight frame. All of the suspension pivot hardware was redesigned from the ground up to remove excess weight, improve durability, and provide easier maintenance. The axles at both ends of the Equilink are permanently bonded to the link, eliminating the need for heavy fasteners. The Equilink pivots feature IGUS bushings, which will provide a lifetime of consistent low friction and quiet operation."

Geometry

Flip chips inside the seat stays allow you to dial in geometry.

"By flipping the position of the chips, riders can adjust their Compulsionโ€™s head angle by 1 degree, along with adjusting their bottom bracket height by 10mm. In addition, the Compulsion also comes with Feltโ€™s newest 'mid chips,' which let riders achieve geometry in between the high and low settings offered by the standard flip chips."
