A race team from a major brand without a single female athlete is a poor show.

Not another underwhelming bike release, in terms of content and bike. Great job.

On what basis? It's fairly common knowledge that large cross-sections are used around the BB to make the lightest and stiffest frames. Especially noticeable on XC bikes. Likewise, bigger tubes are stiffer for the same weight, as demonstrated by 35mm bars.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but stating that you disagree, without giving a counter argument doesn't achieve anything.

Jeff, slow people don't need heavy tires, strong wheels, or real brakes. This, in turn, makes their bikes much lighter.

Also, it's a nice looking bike but from an engineering point of view, the cut outs, etc aren't the most efficient way to use carbon fibre in terms of weight and strength. Large section monocoque structures are.

Hey Lee,

One question, did you pay for the fork? Any relationship with the company in question?

Having ridden one I can't fathom ever picking this fork over a normal fork in the 150mm+ application. In certain trail settings (120mm), I could see it being a cool alternative depending on...more

Potentially controversial opinion. Set screws are better than ones that thread in from the back for durability. When a through pin is chewed you destroy the alu body threads removing it but you can always use mole grips to remove set screws without damaging the pedal.

The Carve 7 is nice but there isn't one in the country for me to test and then there's the matter of availability of parts from team sponsors, etc...

Two for me: tubeless valves cut out of old tubes and I made an old roller and front mech into a full single ring chain device using the limit screws on the mech.
