Previously he’s been quite vocal about how much he likes the mullet setup...maybe he just forgot with all the excitement?

love how he didn't actually say it was a 27.5 wheel in the rear, keeping it under wraps apparently.

If your headset is getting loose, that is your stem bolts. It's called a "preload" for a reason.
Final load & tension on the headset is handled by the stem.

Very cool products here. Definitely looking at the single speed kit to replace a dying Rohloff DH. Had been considering the SB1 stuff but maaaan that’s expensive stuff to huck bike parks with. Also think the steerer clamp would make life so easy when there’s 4 bikes in the van.

What dropper/saddle are you using? I have a one up with a ergon saddle and can get 40mm in front or behind the clamps. Similar with a reverb and a giant contact dropper. some saddle combos might reduce that fractionally but that is still a lot of adjustment? I have a p3 size privateer, with the...more

I was faster on 29 until I went back to being a pilot rather than a passenger. At 5'8" I can be way faster downhill on an XL 29er until I have to turn. Those things are like toboggans! Hold on and ride it down. Now I like to be in total control and smaller wheels gives me that control. I find i...more

I'm also 5'10 and don't like 29ers. I could do a mullet set up for sure, but some of us like to get low and squash stuff without buzzing our ass.

It’s not cheating, it’s just dumb. Why would you run xc casings on a Dh bike. I had rimpacts with exo+ and still managed to destroy the tyre. So whoever built this bike either has no idea how DH riding works or built it for someone who rides Dh bikes on xc loops.

DHR2 rolls faster than Aggressor? You're so wrong, despite your impressive experience and qualifications.

I have a history of trials too. Part of the OTM/180 crew.

I tried this flat lever thing a couple of years ago when I first saw the enduroists doing it and...got arm pump before I’d got to the end of the drive. I’d never experienced it before, I just wanted to see what it felt like (horrible for me).
I run mine fairly low too but I used to ride trials...I guess we all used to run em pretty low back in the day.

Custom Norco Sight X Gehrig Twins EWS Race Bike 2020

485mm reach, 622mn stack, 29” wheels and 175mm dropper posts. These are massive bikes for anyone. Considerably bigger than some Pro men athletes. Interesting choice when we’re seeing many athletes race a more nimble bike in the EWS.

Volume reducers = mid stroke support reducers. If you want more support you’re best throwing them in the bin and using more spring pressure. I actually think that damping can be overlooked these days. I also think there’s a misconception that moar spacers ... more »

I’ve said this many times... The best thing I ever did was put DH casing tyres on my bike. I’ve tried some pretty whacky stuff, stupid head angles, fork offsets, stems, all manner of shocks and forks, bikes 2 sizes too big for me. The only thing that ... more »

Incredible, loved it! Felt like watching Evolve but not filmed with a potato from the late 90s. Even the bike is reminiscent of those we used to ride before the 24” street trials things came along. Insane level of riding too. Shame it was so short!

Added reply in a thread Best front AND rear tire 3/30/2020 2:09 AM

The only tyres I’ve ever used at both ends of the bike are DHF and DHR but rarely both at the same time. If somebody told me I had to run the same tyres front and back I’d go for DHR for sure. But my actual preference is for very different tyres (at ... more »
