Looks good for the price! I hope they have early success and are able to release more casing/compound combinations, as right now neither of these tires appeal to me solely off not having the right combos. Soft, sticky fast wearing rear and hard, less grippy front? No thanks.
I’m stoked to get on these! I love grippy tires, but I’m always fantasizing about faster rolling tires. These sound like they might be in the perfect middle spot.
I don't get the complaining about the $65 price tag. A Minion DHR/F EXO with their Maxterra compound is normally around $90. Sure, you can find them on sale for a little less. Definitely like the initial review of these and I'll probably pick up a pair to try them out.
HOWEVER, come on Vital, mounting with Cushcore was a "cinch," really? How many beers deep were you?
Uh, bringing in the non-argument of lift access is the real dumb issue here. Namely, lift access parks are either on private land, or private permitted land. They can allow whatever the hell they want on their terrain, including full blown 450 MX bikes if they feel so inclined.
The issue with e-bikes is that they are MOTORIZED vehicles. I have no problem with e-bikes at all, provided they are used in areas reserved for motorized vehicles.
Wow, the irony here is almost poetic: contest winner guesses correctly that Gwin would take it, and walks away with the exact drivetrain that Gwin did NOT use to take that win, even though most of those parts were dangling off his bike like dead weight. You can't make this shit up.
if your life is about making your best ideas real and the love you have for your kids then shit... good life... take a deep breath... its not about the bike... its about the man and his life and his work... i can relate... if a journalist told me to shut my kid up and wash the bike i would just politely end the interview... no time for that kind of BS...
You do realise that this system works in pretty much the same way as the original Switch Link found in your SB95a? The only real difference being the bearing within the eccentric has been replaced by a rail...

If you're not taking apart your bike and cleaning it after a month of riding, your bike will be a shit heap regardless.

"Need" is subjective. Who honestly follows recommended service intervals? Besides, the suggested service would take you all of 5 minutes.

Ride the new bike then tell us if you're still bummed. I'm pretty sure you won't be.
