Absolutely! I have a pair of MT5s on my Yeti and they are super powerful, progressive and reliable (1 bleed in 3 years). Plus, they're cheap (300 CAD including rotors and adapter). If you don't like the lever shape (I do), you can buy the 1-finger version (HC).

I’m no world cup mechanic, but zero issues ever with Magura bleeds. But then, it’s also all I’ve used really for 8-9 years. Super simple, but I never had to learn to work on crap brakes either and try to apply what I learned to good ones.

FYI Magura lever shape grows...more

I had the chance to ride LOTS in September and the conditions were perfect. Clearly, this is what I'd call an "epic" ride, since you have to climb for 3 hours (more or less depending on your form) to earn this trail. While going up (and then down), you'll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains, lakes and forests, which is part of the pleasure of this ride and makes great memories. Depending on your fit and ability level, the complete ride down LOTS can take from 1/2 h to one full hour and varies between long fast straights up top to tight turns at the bottom, all worth it. If you have the opportunity to ride/stay in Whistler, this is a must-do!!!

I don't about low budget. This is pretty high budget compared to anything else you can find.

Keep it coming!

Loic = smoother Gwin = charging. Two riders. Two styles. Both can win.

Added a comment about product review Review - 2017 Giant Trance Advanced from Vital MTB Test Sessions 2/28/2017 8:58 AM

As a side note, I'd like to add that Giant does NOT warranty the whole frame for life. In fact (and I learned it at my expense), only the main triangle is under lifetime warranty (and of course, only for the original owner).

Added a comment about product review Long Term Tested: SRAM X01 Eagle 1x12 Drivetrain 2/9/2017 1:32 PM

Well, you can't deny that SRAM cassettes are systematically overpriced vs Shimano's. I understand that SRAM does not have the same production capacity, but still, their high-end cogsets (XG1199 XX1, for example) are almost 2 x the price of their Shimano counterparts (XTR, in this case). Then, you need to factor in the XD driver, which makes an even bigger impact on the wallet for a wear part. I understand your point regarding the trickle down effect, but as of now, you can get a 11-46 XT cassette for 50% less than a XG1150 cassette. As long as SRAM won't lower their prices on cassettes, I will keep on buying Shimano -- as most people do.
