Dear Robot,
1/ If by friction, you mean 2 surfaces sliding one on the other, I think there is not so much friction in a gear box. If the gears are well designed, the teeth are rolling one one the other, not sliding (involute tooth profile). Same for the bearing inside, the balls are mostly rolling.

I liked him better when his oppinions were kept to that GeoCities built website of his.

That was ridiculously pinned in those conditions. Lotta front wheel drifts in there. Reckon there aren't too many people in the world faster than Joe Smith on his home trails in the wet, even if he is technically retired.

Well, I haven't really ridden in the last six years since my MS diagnosis. My most used bike is a '56 Schwinn with a 90's Hannebrink DH fork on it. Getting down to the market is great, but the climb home is all I can do. All of my bikes are 26" as I was too skint for new and had just built my own 26's when I got the news. I attempted a grand return to the sport at Vital Ditch Day in Big Bear, CA and managed to keep my temperature in check but found that my vision would blur out in rock gardens which is obviously not ideal. I still love and support the sport and do all that I can for Vital but sadly I do not spin many.
Google Dirt Mag Big Birds Bike for my pride and joys.

No problem Yeah I'm doing good thanks and am lucky enough to have my local only 20 mins drive away and open the whole time, though I haven't been riding much due to work injuries, hope you are doing good and turning them wheels.

Thanks for the thumbs Mr. Burd. I hope that all is well and you have available lock down riding.

Yea this is insane. Looks like some of the gaps near the middle require ultra precision but the last step down looked massive. If tricks weren’t so important at rampage Gee would still do super well

I'd much rather watch stuff like this than the 897345 videos that just show bro brahs doing little skiddy berm slapping.

That's a beautiful bike. Without the big knuckle in front of the BB that's become so common on Santa Cruz and e-bikes, this is a really nice look.

Looks the goods. I'd love it if they had a hightop version though. Zip-sided hightop too. Like my work boots.

It looks the same as the paint job that come on my old Marin Quake Dual Slalom bike from 1999ish.

I have not tried these comp pedals but have tried a few others from Nukeproof and found the pins tear out really easily, leaving a mess to try to screwback into.

"Jeff Bezos has two feet and two hands, but he isn’t a human being." Top notch. Maybe the toppest of all conceivable notches.
