An alloy bike would not have survived that crash either. Not in ride-able condition at least. His leg acted as leverage against that pole. 180-200 lbs guy at full leverage, all bikes would have had issues there

His leg didn't hit the pole. I'll allow that if he was riding alloy that the bike may have bounced off the pole, sending Minnaar back in the other direction, thus resulting in a nasty injury.

Nice to see the post broke the bike and not the total destruction of the trail Minnaar was laying down.

Also glad to see he is not seriously hurt! That's going to leave a mark.

Wooden post might have acted as the crux for the break, but GM's leg whip was the catalyst. A Lot of force generated.

That has to be THE STRONGEST course marking pole in the history of marking courses. How deep did they pour the concrete for that one? To say nothing of the toughness of the rider... #GOAT
