Expensive bling for your bike

Overall Review:

A stem is an important part of a mountain bike, but honestly pretty hard to mess up. Especially with the trend of wide bars and short stems, flex has become a thing of the past, where with the super long stems from the past it was noticeable. I have yet to have a stem fail on me, and as long as you keep the bolts torqued, minus looks and maybe a bit of weight, a budget stem will function pretty close to a high end stem. I say that because although the cavity stem is the best I’ve ever had, I really bought it for the bling factor, as my previous stems have not really had issues.

The cavity stem is a work of art, it has a low stack height, lots of machining done to keep it a touch lighter, and make it look fantastic, as well as an assortment of sweet looking colors. The finish is flawless and has been holding up great. No issues with slipping or bolts coming loose. This stem makes my bike look wicked awesome, and that is why I bought it. Does it cost twice as much (or more) than a lot of stems , yes, but it also in my opinion looks way better. Deity is a great company and the owners are super cool people who really support the scene, and they make awesome products, minus the price what more could you want???

Favorite stem, bar none
Have them on all my bikes, new Copper head is good too
Rating:
The Good
Just seems strong
Wide front plate = wider clamping and stiffer feel
Bolts are full size
rounded edges are nice for the times you're just riding in pants/shorts.
The Bad
A bit pricey for not being Made in US
Overall Review:

Been running these stems for years, and now have 1 Cavity, and 1 new Copperhead.

With bars and stems especially, feeling good about how solid your parts are is really important. I don't want to be pushing a corner or dropping or something and be second guessing my stuff slipping!
