After countless miles driven, what feels like days in airports and on planes, and living out of a suitcase, it's always nice to come back home to sunny Colorado.
Fall in Colorado is beautiful, especially when the rains return and a bit of color is restored.
6 a.m. just below the 14,447-ft summit of Mount Elbert. I slept in the parking lot without a sleeping bag the night before and started hiking at 3am. I was quite cold, so needless to say I was thrilled to see the sun finally break over the horizon.
This is what the roof of Colorado looked like from the summit of its highest peak. At 7 a.m. at almost 15,000-feet, the victory beer I drank on the summit went straight to my head.
Joey Schulser on the 4,000-foot descent of Mount Elbert, outside Leadville, CO. The light does amazing things in the early morning and this photo was taken before most of you were out of bed.
East vs. West on the spine of the Continental Divide just above Loveland Pass with Matt Thompson.
Matt Thompson on the Continental Divide, riding the 12,000-foot ridge to Grizzly Peak near Loveland Pass, CO.
The off-season, if you can call it that, is a time for road trips with friends.
With rare and destructive floods in Boulder this past Fall, I headed out to explore some new zones. Some of which had been recently effected by a different kind of natural disaster.
Perfectly bank corners and endless flow with Joey Schusler in Fruita.
Michael Cody chases his shadow in Buffalo Creek, CO.
Some things are worth waking up at the crack of dawn for.
I've known Evan Turpen for years and we used to travel to some World Cups together "back in the day." When I found out he had moved to Boulder, I jumped at the opportunity to reconnect and shoot some photos.
This shot was supposed to be totally different, but what Joey and I had planned just wasn't working out. In the end I like this one better than what we were after. Simple, with a touch of style.
Joey Schusler's Yeti SB66 proudly displays the theme of the day with a mix of snow and dirt clinging to its carbon frame.
Exploring the high country in Colorado has become mild obsession lately. When the snow finally shut down access by bike, it's time to head out on foot to scout backcountry ski zones for the winter.
The Bus goes to Moab. Slick Rock and Arches Nat. Park see a very rare heavy snow, but 14 riders make the best of it and hilarity follows wherever they go.
5-minutes earlier, these four were jumping off a bridge above the Colorado river from the top of a school bus.
With Winter in full swing at home in Colorado, it was time for my yearly pilgrimage to Chile for sunshine, dusty trails and Pisco Sours.
Delicious and fresh food everywhere. It's good to get away from the rules and regulations of America now and again, and to experience life at a more laid back pace.
Valparaiso, Chile is one of my favorite cities, full of color and surprises around every corner.
Valparaiso is one giant canvas.
These two kids saw my camera and immediatly wanted to show me their skills at riding down sketchy stairs in the hills of Valpo.
When I first came to Chile in 2008, there were very few high end bikes. Now they are everywhere.
I met Spaniard Iago Garay for the first time at the Andes Pacifico, two weeks prior to this shot. I was pleasantly surprised to see him racing through the streets of Valpo on a DH bike a long way from home.
I raced down this staircase a few years back, but not until I came back to Valparaiso with a camera did I see how awesome it looked with all the people and colors.
I've made many friends over the years on my travels to South America. It's awesome to reconnect year after year. Especially when some, like Bolivia's Yannick Wene, have new additions to their family.
Legendary Photographer, Gary Perkin in front of the lens near La Parva.
4 bikes, 4 riders, all from 4 different continents shuttling into the sunset.
Anka Martin takes the final shot of the day, riding through the dust as the sun sets behind the Andes Mountains in Chillan, Chile.
Old friends, new friends, mountain bikes and cold beer. It's Spring time in Colorado and the riding season is upon us. #winning
Party on 2014!

Stay tuned for more from Dave Trumpore as he shoots the Enduro World Series for Vital MTB this season.

About ACRE Hydration Packs and Riding Apparel

The ACRE Trail Systemâ„¢ is the culmination of a life spent in the wild. It's these experiences that drive us to create gear that enables maximum enjoyment by minimizing the negative effects that come along with exposure to the elements.
