Danny "unstoppable" Hart again fastest today with serious momentum for race day. @maddogboris
We can't get enough of Danny. Neither can he : ) #DoubleDanny -Dan Hearn
Loic Bruni leaning back and digging in as he drops into one of the wilder, steeper chutes littered with roots, holes and giant rocks. -Sven Martin
Loic gets some advice from his dad after his timed training run. Telemetry does some of the thinking and eliminates the guess-work for Loic. Why more aren't doing this is still surprising at this stage. -Sven Martin
You don't want to show all your cards when it's only timed training at World Champs. Gwin coasted to the finish line at the end of his run. Only he knows how much faster he can go. -Sven Martin
Flo Payet has been lurking around the Top 10, always there and always consistent. Today his measured approach to racing led to him making up a bunch of time at the bottom and smashing it to 3rd! -Duncan Philpott
Troy flicking dust while keeping his kit white. Multi-talented kid ready to add a rainbow of colors to that wardrobe. -Sven Martin
Pom Pon sitting in third after her timed run but almost ten seconds off Rachel and Tracey. -Sven Martin
Bernard Kerr set off with a point to prove to the British team selectors. And he certainly proved his point: 4th place and just 3 seconds back from Danny. -Dan Hearn
Adam Brayton either chilled on the top half of his run or had some issues as he brought it back into 16th. -Sven Martin
Greg often makes drastic changes on set up during events and between events. Marshy and Greg just want to figure out how to feel comfortable going ten seconds faster. -Sven Martin
Greg raising the cockpit. -Sven Martin
Not the best seeding run for Josh, who rode the bottom of the course with his goggles wrapped round his wrist. It's exciting to see him looking so fast on a track that suits his loose style. -Dan Hearn
Brendan running clips?! I'll just leave that there to serve as an indicator as to how rough the track really is. -Dan Hearn
Luca Shaw was 20th at the first split but made up 9 places by the second split. A good top section could make this guy a real contender for top spot. -Dan Hearn
John Lawlor and Victor Lucas have been banging out Specialized daily videos for your viewing pleasure. Today's might be a little late. -Sven Martin
Jackson Frew was third at Worlds last year. He will be doing everything he can to medal again. -Sven Martin
Practice this morning in very different lighting conditions from tomorrow's late afternoon race. -Sven Martin
Charlie Harrison with another Top 20. Solid run for the ever-improving American. -Sven Martin
Finn Iles with a third place. Not bad considering how few runs he has had. Oh and he burped his tire and lost air 2/3 of the way down and took it easy. -Sven Martin
Always stoked to see riders from my hometown of Nelson New Zealand shredding. Oscar Perks hitting the eject button. -Sven Martin
Tahnee Seagrave didn't have the best of days today. Look for her to bounce back tomorrow. -Sven Martin
We are so happy that Spomer could make it to Worlds to film for Vital Raw. -Sven Martin
Even though it has had a two year break, Evan Warner returns to defend his BoXXer World Champs crown. More than a little beer and fluid was spilled in the steps to victory. -Sven Martin
Last seconds of 2016 BoXXer World Champs! #photobeerfinish @maddogboris

BoXXer World Champs in a minute. #veroRAW
Today's and tomorrow's race bike for Loic. -Sven Martin
A leisurely start in the Trek pits for Rach. -Duncan Philpott
First run of the day, no mech, NFG. -Duncan Philpott
Sylvain Cougeroux tests the early morning grip in the top corners. -Duncan Philpott
Nik Nesteroff had a slow start to his seeding but managed to put a massive 4 seconds into the regular offenders in the last minute-long split to pull it back to a 2nd place! -Duncan Philpott
Manon made up time today as the track progressed. If she can suss out that top split she should be moving into the medals tomorrow. -Duncan Philpott
Dropping in. -Duncan Philpott
Gaetan Vige is certainly filling the role of the fast French Junior. There's always one and they're always a danger come World Champs. -Duncan Philpott
This poor 'hopper has resembles your average media member. -Duncan Philpott
Tracey Hannah lost most of her time to Rachel up top, from 4.3 seconds back she managed to reduce the gap to 0.6 at the bottom of the track. She and Rachel put 9 seconds on the rest of the field. -Duncan Philpott
Course maintenence took some drastic turns. -Duncan Philpott
Ferran Jorba was on for another good one until he went down at the bottom of the track. There's no doubting this kid has talent. -Duncan Philpott
It's not a surprise that Laurie Greenland is in the Top 10 after how good he's been looking in practice all week. He wasn't feeling it today, in his own words, however. Let's hope he gets that race head on tomorrow. -Duncan Philpott
Flo, all systems go. -Duncan Philpott
Fingers crossed for tomorrow? #gordospick -Duncan Philpott
British Junior, Matt Walker, ended up in 5th position in timed training, 3.8 seconds behind Andrea Biancitto. #lightbro @maddogboris
6th-fastest Junior today, Devinci's Magnus! @maddogboris
Maybe the huck to flat isn't the fastest option here. Marcelo scrubbing low and fast! @maddogboris
Martin "enduro" Maes should maybe listen to the marshal about his line choices...32nd position for him. @maddogboris
Gee Atherton is definitely not used of watching a downhill race from outside the tape. #hardtimes #scarytimes @maddogboris
After looking flat-out during practice, Elliott Heap seeded in 7th. We feel there is more to come from the young CRC Paypal rider. -Dan Hearn
Connor has looked comfortable on the loose dirt all week but needs to find 13 seconds to be on par with Danny come race day. -Dan Hearn
There are lines all over this rock garden, and almost nobody does it the same. It's cool to see the top guys choosing different lines that suit their style more. -Dan Hearn
It will be a sad day when we can't put Peaty in a Vital slideshow anymore. So to make the most of him while he's here, we'll put him in again. -Dan Hearn
Kiwi Shania Rawson put almost 25 seconds into the rest of the Junior Women's field. -Dan Hearn
44 plate Andrea Bianciotto's two splits were 5th and 3rd, but finished 2 seconds up on the rest of the field. An astonishing effort from the Italian on his home turf. -Dan Hearn
This chute caused some chaos in Women's timed training runs, but that was not the case for Rachel. She asserted her dominance once again to take the fastest time of the day. -Dan Hearn
Remi Thirion charging hard through one of the last chutes where many were fatigued to the point of crashing. -Dan Hearn
Loic's telemetry information is studied in depth after his timed training run. The bike will surely provide some interesting stats after being ridden at race pace on the rough track. -Dan Hearn
Out with the old, in with the new. -Dan Hearn

Description

Full-pace run or take it easy? The brutal Val di Sole downhill track had riders playing the strategy game during timed training today at World Champs. The timed runs did not count for any positions or points, so it was all about planning for race day. Danny Hart pushed fairly hard and cracked on over two seconds ahead of the rest of the field while most others claim they took it easy. The Women's race is heating up with Rachel and Tracey neck and neck in timed runs. If Rachel wins tomorrow, she will make history with a perfect World Cup season and a World Champs victory. Sven, Duncan, @maddogboris and Dan Hearn deliver the dust-covered goods from an insanely steep track. There's only one race run left in 2016 that matters.
