Pro Bike Check: Josh Bryceland's Santa Cruz Bronson

View as: Slideshow | One Page
We tried to get Bryceland to do this Bronson bike check with an American accent. He managed to get out two words before failing, LOL.
A size large frame means the tall and lanky Bryceland can still maneuver the bike with ease.

Hardly a passenger...
Massive torque and output with his 11-36 Shimano XTR rear cassette and 36t ethirteen chainring mounted to 175mm XTR cranks up front.
A decision to run clipped in full-time means Shimano DX pedals for Bryceland.
You can't argue with results or a *rounded off package.*
Shimano XTR brakes keep Bryceland from looping out when he stands on the pedals and delivers massive torque.
Fox 34 RAD with custom, enduro-specific guts we mortals can't know about.
Same with his Fox Float CTD rear shock...the guts tell a story we may never know.
Full-width ENVE carbon bars match the width of his DH bike, making transition from one bike to the other easy.
ENVE 27.5-inch carbon AM rims laced up to Chris King hubs. #ballerstatus
Bryceland has found the ENVE carbon rims have provided a stiff wheel, even with the increased diameter.
Aggressive, but not crazy for Enduro. Maxxis High Roller 2 for everyday Bronson driving and Bryceland.
Firmer tire pressures mean no pinch flats or rolling the tire off the rim, which is easy to do when you rail corners like Josh.
The only mod on his Bronson so far...slightly trimmed down center knobs on his High Roller 2.
With the Enduro World Series on the horizon, Josh is pretty certain that settings and pressures will be changed on a regular basis to best match the courses.
Thanks for the look at this fresh whip, Bryceland! We're banking on you this year!

Description
Josh Bryceland checks in with his fresh, new Santa Cruz Bronson 27.5 trail bike. He discusses choosing to race clipped in and how he handles his massive torque and horsepower. Even though it was not a race or a contest, it is Vital MTB's opinion that Bryceland was the winner of the official Bronson release video which earned him this coveted bike check with Joe Bowman : )

When you're done with Ratboy's Bike Check, check out more photos of the bike in action here.
