That bike just looks more and more badass with each iteration.
I miss Ferrentino
Is he gone from Santa Cruz?
Yup, true story.
I appreciate products more when I see their inner workings, such as seen in that cut-in-half front triangle.
My new ride for 2013 !!!
Nevermind the bike, where is the story on Cedric riding? Some people were saying he was done with his career, and here he is less than half a year later riding. Props.
CG fought back, worked his butt off, and is now happily shredding the DH bike. Just a few weeks ago he won an enduro event by a minute over Barel. Far from "done." He'll soon start training for the 2013 World Cup season.
Good to hear. Peaty is on board for another full WC season, right?
With all the emphasis on carbon they still use the Thompson masterpiece posts and e13 alloy cranks! Those would be among the first parts that I would go carbon with. Sweet bike though.
The Thomson Masterpiece is actually lighter then any carbon post that is comparable in strength by nearly 40 Grams.
The bar has been raised.
god that thing is beautiful. rubber bits, built in fender, and CG ftw. was cool to see inside.
Time to order one up
Did they not weigh the Session 9.9? It weighs less than 7.9 lbs with the same shock... http://www.vitalmtb.com/photos/features/Trek-Session-9-9-Project-Flyweight,2800/Project-Flyweight-The-28lb-Trek-Session-9-9-DH-Bike,26669/bturman,109
FTW: The Trek Session 9.9's ACTUAL WEIGHT (not claimed) is just over 8 lbs with the Fox DHX RC4.
Have you weighed the 2013 V10? Just sayin'.
if i recall correctly, they are referring to the complete bike weight. with full enve team setup etc.
the title of the article is The Full Carbon 2013 Santa Cruz V10c - 'World's Lightest and Strongest Downhill FRAME'
Still a sweet frame, just not *the* lightest.
According to one of the engineers at Santa Cruz that posted on another forum that they did weigh several of the other frames in that weight range and the trek weighed 8.2lbs actually. I also saw an independent post of the trek frame minus shock on a scale and the shock weight and it came out to exactly 8.2.
So how much do kidneys sell for?
Think it was about 30k last time I checked, and yes I have checked.....
