650b Wheels To Take Over in 2014?

Whether you call it 650b or 27.5, the new wheel size is poised to take over in 2014. Rumors were strong that many companies were going to offer 26" wheels on only DH bikes and xc models under $600-800 price point; the rest will be 27.5 or 29. Hutchinson had the only new tires I was allowed to photograph, but there are big things coming in 2014 in both the big wheel and enduro markets. Credit: Lee Trumpore

totally NOT STOKED with 650. when the world shifts to it, I will either be the only bike company still making 26" bikes or I'll just give it up and go make moonshine in the woods. 650B is not a wheel size, it is a math problem

Yup, I saw Maxxis, Scwalbe and Kendas at Eurobike....they are all supposed to hit the consumer market in December. I cannot wait!!! Been running limited tires for a bit and I'm ready for some serious tread! I think Schwalbe's are already out but they are waaaay too expensive!

Seems like the dominance of the 26in wheel size in mtb nearing its end. Question is who will be the 1st racer to do a world cup dh in 27.5?

Didn't someone already run a 650B in the WC? Or maybe I'm thinking of Rampage.....

650b isn't going to be taking over anything with tread patterns like that. I think I saw those same tread patterns on the fresh Cheng-Shins that Nerve is running on their '13 Walmart line.

The one on the left has spider webs. Obviously you missed that. Spider webs are what's going to send this 650 thing into the homes of every bike rider out there in 2013. And no spider webs don't work on 26" wheels. That's why 650s are so brilliant.
