Confirmed: New Red Bull Rampage Site for 2014 (With Photos) 5

Over the past few years riders have increasingly voiced their concerns about returning to the same site for Red Bull Rampage. All that will change this year, as riders will have untouched soil to work with once again.

They're returning to the same zone near Virgin, Utah, but this year Red Bull will send riders off the backside of the mountain used for the past few events. Having stood on the top and looked down the cliffs on the back, we can only imagine how wild it's going to get! We've also heard reports that Red Bull will not be adding wood to the site this year, but may help move dirt for some landings, keeping it much more raw than in years past.

During the Crankworx Red Bull Joyride live broadcast, Kyle Strait was shown sitting at the top, looking down at the future of Rampage in a video teaser and confirming the rumors.

Scanning back through our collection of images, we found a few that show where riders might go:

This move could change the game in many ways. Hopefully riders will have more than three days (or more helpers) to build this year. Photographers will be challenged too as the backside is almost always in the shade except for midday. Temperatures could also be quite cold without the sun's help to warm things up.

Apparently the new area was used for part of Berrecloth's New World Disorder 10 segment (thanks for the tip, Alex Shirley).

Rampage is scheduled for September 26-28 this year. Stay tuned for coverage!
