I saw an article on the LA Times website about four mountain bikers that were missing overnight on a ride from Mount Wilson down to JPL. That sounds like the Gabrielano Trail which I've described to many as Downieville in LA. But I thought that it had been wiped out by floods after the big fires down there? Has it been cleared? Was it never gone? Or did they get lost because the trail is really gone?

I've always hated the "Look at me" concept of the Bump, but I gotta do it. Bump. There, I'm shamed. I've ridden it plenty of times before the fire, usually getting dropped off at the top of Allen St. and cranking out the 13 Mile fire road climb up to Mt. Wilson, then riding down it and home to my parents house. I never saw any no bikes signs. It"s a gem worth rebuilding. Wass Upp???
