This off topic forum seems to need a little boost. You are all bike dorks obviously, but chances are good that you have other passions as well. What are they?
Are you a camera nerd?
Do you love a certain band entirely too much?
Are you a whiz chef in the kitchen?
What gets you excited when you're not shredding on two wheels?

Discuss. Maybe you share some great hobby with some other Vital members that you never knew about.

I just got a RC short course truck. Try to drain 2 batteries a day. Course design in the back yard takes up a fair amount of time too.

My problem is I've yet to find a sport that doesn't kick ass. Pretty much every sport is interesting to me. Even those little ice skating fruit cakes impress me. It's best for me to ignore a sport unless I have money to blow.

At the top of my list:
Backpacking
Climbing
Fishing
Bowhunting
Whitewater
Kayak Touring

AND........

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE FOOTBALL

-surfing

-snowboarding

-photography (not biking, landscape and macro mostly)

-bouldering

-hittin' the gym (for fun, not to get ripped)

-song writing

-poetry

-adding to my 412 item long bucket list

-partying (of course)

-skiing

-wood carving

-working/making my own longboards

-graffiti/spray painting

-riding my longboard

-staring at clouds with friends

-yoga (once in awhile when i go to the gym)

-eating

-wasting time

-(illegal)

-(illegal)

-(illegal)

-dirtbiking with friends (if i can borrow one of their bikes)

-building jumps/trails (small or big stuff, its all fun)

I've probably done each one of those thing once within the past 2 weeks.

its a lot for a 14 year old but none the less, its fun and it keeps me relaxed.

I can't afford any other hobbies - both time and $$
3/8/2010 5:36am
Photography, blasting back roads in my TypeR, reading to chill out, going to gigs, cooking (can't beat making a good meal, especially as i'm an ex chef). Spending time with my missus.

I need to find cheaper hobbies..
-My car(WRX with 336whp hoping for 350 before summer, then calling it a day)
-computer stuff(pretty crazy setup at home, windows home server and NAS that serve up my library of movies, mtb films I've ripped and TV shows)
-Video Games
-Snowboarding (went 6 times this season, first time in yearsss)

Trying to get into photography, but just don't have the eye/patience for it yet..

engineering takes up a lot of time usually... unfortunately a lot more than biking at the moment. other than that, lacrosse (field and box). there's gotta be a few more lax players out here, especially from out west.

Late November. I make it to the track ~twice per month, and occasionally make trips to Junction for some desert riding. I have yet to take it to the trails.

When daylight savings hits I plan on getting in a good 2 hour session at Berthoud once/twice a week after work.

Having a blast thus far. Still lots to learn/fine tune!

Um, not one mention of women or beer?!? Well I love both, and also dropping it steep and deep into untracked backcountry powder.

I am really into Cooking. I noticed how cutting food can be very similar to riding bikes (If you go too fast you can get hurt, but its really fun to go fast!), so I etched "PINNED" in my french Knife at work one day!

I am also into vegetable gardening, composting, anything culinary.

Side Note: If you don't watch "No Reservations" with Anthony Bourdain, you really should. He is the man.
