Who's Pedro? VOTE DUNCAN! Vital MTB World Cup Photographer Extraordinaire Takes Deep Summer Challenge Wildcard Spot 2

Week in and week out during the World Cup season, Duncan Philpott brings the goods to the Vital MTB audience. He and Sven are up before the riders and awake long after the pits are quiet to bring you the best World Cup coverage on the web. Just last week, while getting it done at Val di Sole, we found out that Duncan was selected as one of five potential wildcard photographers for the 2013 Deep Summer Photo Challenge. Deep Summer pits a handful of the world's best photographers against one another in a bid to tell the most compelling story in slideshow format in front of a massive audience at Crankworx. BOOSH!

Duncan and 2012 World Champ Greg Minnaar. That's his Dirt Magazine cover, too!

But wait... there's an issue. For Duncan to go and compete in Deep Summer, it means he'll have to miss the Mont-Saint-Anne World Cup. While we're not certain Sven can survive without Duncan's supervision (plus the fact that we'll miss the creative angles he brings), we want Dunc to take Whistler and Crankworx by storm. We already know he has what it takes behind the lens, now he needs your votes to make it happen. Duncan is duking it out with four other wildcard candidates for the sixth and final spot. Voting ends on June 28th, so get in there soon.

About the Deep Summer Photo Challenge

Six Photographers | Three Days | One Epic Slideshow Event

Back for its 6th year, the Deep Summer Photo Challenge turns six different lenses on some of the best mountain bike action and terrain in the world. The Challenge does not ask for a career-long body of work from the contenders. It demands a slice of big-scale action captured in a small segment of time. This year's show promises more variety and a broader perspective from a stacked field of photographers with expanded boundaries to the Sea to Sky Corridor (Squamish - Pemberton) and a required element from within the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. With three days to shoot, the constraint of time is as inspiring as it is unforgiving. The six Deep Summer Photo Challenge shows will be presented Wednesday August 14 under the stars in front of a massive crowd in the state of the art facility at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

RSVP for the Deep Summer Photo Challenge at facebook.com/crankworx and stay tuned to www.crankworx.com for upcoming news.
