Rob Warner's Commencal Meta AM V4.2 6

Setup like a true *mini-DH* bike.

After nearly two decades on Giant, perhaps the most important team tumor this year was Rob Warner's unexpected move to Commencal. It happened without warning and left the fans in utter disbelief. Well, believe it folks, we have the proof right here with a detailed and complete Pro (?) Bike Check of Rob Warner's Commencal Meta AM V4.2.

Pure entertainment and insight with Rob in the audio. #mustlisten

  • Brakes: Avid Code
  • Rotors: Shimano 203mm

  • Saddle: Ride Alpha SuperLight
  • Pedals: Spank Oozy Trail

Keeping it "old skool" with a SRAM 11-speed drivetrain. Warner told us to say it's a 36-tooth chainring...but we doubt it.

All-air RockShox suspension with a 170mm Lyrik with "four of those silver things" inside and a metric Super Deluxe RC3 shock.

If there's one thing Rob Warner is super picky about it'd be his brakes. He wants as much power as possible and runs his levers nearly flat.

"203mm rotors, I go for the biggest I can get. If the brakes ain't the best thing ever, I just lose me s#%t." - Rob Warner

Opting for Shimano rotors over SRAM to eek out that extra 3mm?

To compliment the full DH brake setup, Warner also went aggressive with his wheel and tire combo. Sporting Mavic Deemax wheels and some meaty Schwalbe Magic Mary tires to help give the bike that "mini-DH" feel.

A short stem, wide bars and two upside-down SRAM headset spacers.

Warner's never owned a carbon mountain bike, even refusing one in the past, which is a perfect match with Commencal and their stand against carbon fiber.
