CamelBak Palos LR 4 Hydration Pack

After searching for a fanny pack (since they are soo hot right now) I narrowed it down to 3 options; The dakine, the Source and the Camelbak. Since I have always liked camelbak'sfunctionality and the brand's culture I decided to go with it, not to mention that I got a great deal on it compared to the others. The one I got is very similar to the Palos with just a few small differences that most wouldn't notice. 

It has about 1.5 liters of water storage in the bladder that came included and room for all of your crap in the main compartment. I fit in there a multitool, pump, tire levers, first aid bandages, leatherman, cell phone/wallet and a spare tube. The mesh side pockets are great for snacks or storing your keys although one of the mesh areas on the left side has started to rip apart so now I can't use that pocket for anything important. The back of the pack that I bought has a bungee cord attached to it that can hold a jacket or knee pads, the only crappy thing was that it didn't come with a cable stopper that you use to tighten everything down with but it was a cheap buy at the hardware store. I bought the trail running version of this pack but they are practically the same besides the bungee cord and the color. 

Once I figured out how to wear this pack it made life a lot easier. I started out wearing it too low and it kept moving around on me. You are really supposed to wear it above the top of your hip bones so the straps come across slightly above your belly buttom. This keeps it from sliding down and moving around too much on your hips which can get super annoying. It also took me a while to figure out that the bite valve has a little hidden pocket you can keep it in while you ride because one too many times I took a digger and the bite valve got all dirty and gross. I would highly recommend this fanny pack to anyone looking for great value for money. It might not be the flashiest pack out there but it is a fanny pack afterall, so most people would value function over style. Great for 2-3 hour rides but if you have a bottle cage on your bike you could go for even longer!
